Placefulness is a nature-themed immersive experience exploring our sense of place and presence. Author Jenny Odell defines 'placefulness' as living with a grounded consciousness in the present time and location. The installation, Placefulness, invites the viewers to contemplate a sequence of specific surroundings that activate our senses to connect with the present. The work juxtaposes minimal interpretations of nature with realistic nature sounds, creating an unexpected poetic encounter.

Each animated poster aims to illustrate different ways to find joy mentioned in the talk. While the cheerful color palette and dynamic compositions visually communicate the theme, the aesthetics of joy.

The package design showcases distinctive, vibrant, and imaginative typographic illustrations that resonate with both adults and children, creating an engaging and memorable experience.

Drawing from my unique life experience as an identical twin, this Biodiagram explores the wonderful co-twin relationship. This project is based on data collected from texting exchanges between my twin and I. The two symmetrical and interweaving rings visualize our mutually influencing lives as Dualing Dialog.

In this visualization, each color signifies a category of our texting content, the yellow color implies a comforting chat, yet a section of the black represents a quarrel between us. While warmer colors indicate care, support, and subjective matters, cooler tones indicate the exchanges based on objective facts.

Selected texts from our chat sit on top of the colors and serve as records revealing the deep resonance and empathy twins share for each other. The Biodiagram also visualizes the invisible connections between two individuals. It is through dialogs we communicate, and it is through connections we exchange our humanity.

This publication is designed for the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Next Wave Festival. In response to the festival’s spirit of innovation and artistic rigor, the brochure is developed into a three-layered sequence of dynamically asymmetric compositions with a controlled color palette. Black and white photographs serve as a subtle counterpoint, and are enlivened by a rich and crisply defined typographic system.

Each layer, different in both dimension and color, helps readers to navigate events more efficiently, while creating a lively and satisfying experience. Important information, such as location and time, are organized into easily accessible boxes. The solution creates an elegant balance of images and type while making order of a complex array of information.
